Jesse Aarons trained all summer to become the fastest runner in school, so he’s very upset when newcomer Leslie Burke outruns him and everyone else. Despite this and other differences, including that she’s rich, he’s poor, and she’s a city girl, he’s a country boy, the two become fast friends. Together, they create Terabithia, a land of monsters, trolls, ogres, and giants and rule as king and queen. This friendship helps Jess cope with the tragedy that makes him realize what Leslie taught him.
I thought this movie was great. This was one of those rare movies that went exactly like the book, which is probably why I liked the movie as much as I did. The only bad thing about this movie was the sad parts. I know it’s suppose to be, but I hate getting all upset over a movie. It’s kind of like that one movie “Old Yeller” and everyone knows how sad that movie was.
As for the acting, I thought all the characters fit their roles and looked exactly like I imagined, when I read the book. I thought both Jess and Leslie played their roles perfectly and wouldn’t have changed anything about it.
Another good thing about this movie was the special effects they have in it. They did a great job on making everything look great and not over doing it any.
If you haven’t seen this movie, I would recommend it to anyone, even kids. If you haven’t read the book, it’s definitely worth reading, as well.
