The film follows Jennifer, a writer who is working on a new novel and needs to get out of the city to finish it. She rents a riverside cabin in upstate New York to work on her novel, attracting the attention of a number of rowdy male locals. They catch Jennifer one day and strip her naked for the village idiot (Matthew) and rape her. Jennifer is later attacked and raped a further two times by the four degenerates, and her novel is also destroyed. But Jennifer recovers, and in her now-twisted, psychotic state, she begins to seek revenge on the men.
I used to see the movie box to this VHS tape all the time at blockbuster video, but it took me all this time to watch it. My girlfriend told me this movie was very graphic, and it was very hard for her to watch it. So, I thought I would watch it to see if I could handle it.
I thought it was very similar to the original version of “Last House On The Left”, and had almost the same storyline, where the girl gets raped and she gets revenge. The only thing that separated this movie from Last House was the thought of the girl getting raped over and over again from the same men.
As for the revenge part, I thought this one had more going for it, compared to the Last House On The Left movie. I think it’s probably what made this movie so great, in my opinion.
As for the acting, I didn’t notice any of the main characters who failed on their roles. I thought they all did a great job, with their characters.
If you haven’t seen this movie, it’s definitely worth watching. I would suggest to watch this version over the 2010 remake version. The remake was too watered down to be “Unrated”, but both had their ups and downs.
