A new friendship develops when Eli – a pale, serious young girl who only comes out at night – moves in next door to lonely, 12-year-old Oskar. Coinciding with her arrival is a series of inexplicable disappearances and murders. Eli must continue to relocate in order to stay alive, but when Oskar faces his darkest hour, she returns to defend him the only way she can…
This movie was very similar to Twilight. The only difference was the kids, in this film, were 12 years old. I found the movie to be a bit boring. There are many websites that like to file this movie under horror but it’s more a romantic type film. The girl is the vampire and the boy falls in love with her, even though he doesn’t admit it, you can tell it.
As for the acting, everyone did fine on their roles. The only thing I didn’t like was, with the dubbed version of the movie, the bully sounds more like a girl. I thought it was pretty funny, myself, to hear someone that enjoyed picking on kids have his own issues.
If you have seen Twilight and enjoyed that movie, then you’ll enjoy this one, as well. If you’re wanting to watch it because of it being filed under the horror genre, you’ll probably hate it because there’s nothing scary found in this movie. It did, however, give me something new to enjoy, so no complaints from me.
