It is said that Halloween is the night when the dead rise to walk among us and other unspeakable things roam free. The rituals of All Hallows Eve were devised to protect us from their evil mischief, and one small town is about to be taught a terrifying lesson that some traditions are best not forgotten. Nothing is what it seems when a suburban couple learns the dangers of blowing out a Jack-o-Lantern before midnight; four women cross paths with a costumed stalker at a local festival; a group of pranksters goes too far and discovers the horrifying truth buried in a local legend; and a cantankerous old hermit is visited by a strange trick-or-treater with a few bones to pick. Costumes and candy, ghouls and goblins, monsters and mayhem… the tricks and treats of Halloween turn deadly as strange creatures of every variety-human and otherwise-try to survive the scariest night of the year.
I thought this was a great Halloween film. It’s one of those movies where you have to pay attention from beginning to end and cannot jump around or take breaks through the movie. It’s broken down into segments and by the end, it all fits together kind of like a puzzle. They have a lot of violence but it wasn’t too graphic.
There are a few funny parts, in this movie. At the same time, there are a few sad scenes, like how the bus driver kills all those kids. The little red riding hood part was good but I didn’t understand how some were werewolves and some were vampires. I never knew both creatures get along as friends. So, I thought that was kind of strange.
The principal’s story was pretty funny to me because he was scared about getting caught by the guy next door and the kids that he was putting in the grave wouldn’t die. He had to keep hitting them with the shovel.
The only thing I didn’t like about this movie was they really didn’t explain who Sam was. They didn’t even mention his name, in the film, either. The only way you would know his name would be either from reading the comic book series, or from the company’s main website, or just by looking it up online, in general.
If you haven’t seen this movie, you should watch it, at least once. I probably watched it about 4 times, total. Just don’t expect it to be a scary movie. It’s nothing like Friday the 13th, Halloween, or any other real horror film. It was more like Tales From The Crypt or Creepshow. It’s mostly based on the comic series. If you have read the comic books of the series, then you’ll know what it’s like. The movie kept the same aspect as the comic books, which I thought was great.
